Thanksgiving is here again. Once again I am in Tulsa, OK and I am having an amazing time. God rocks for so many reasons, one of those is for sending me Chelsea and the loving family that came with her. If it wasn't for her my year last year would have been terrible and I wouldn't have had a good place to be for Thanksgiving last year or this year. Basically, family is amazing. It is really nice when you make new family and that is what I have here in Tulsa. To all my family who potentially read this, I love you and I wish I could have been home. But since that couldn't happen, this is about as good as it can get without going into debt for a four day break.
Tomorrow is Black Friday, btw. Even though it might not actually take businesses into the black this year it will still be a blast. It will be my second year going out early and Elena and Phoenix are coming to enjoy it with me--more family, yay!

Tru is dying!
ughh!!! So my computer is dying! Right now I can't get her to open any programs that would be useful for school like Word or One Note. I just don't don't what to do with her. I need her to work because I can't afford a new computer yet! Fortunately, except for needing serious help in Hebrew right now, this is the only major problem in my life, and thank you Yahweh for it being a material problem for once because that is something I can fix, though oddly I still have to depend on you because I don't have the financial resources to fix it, but I guess that just goes to show that Satan will throw stones at you anywhere he can.

My birthday...needing a new computer
I am now 21 and I think I'm going to have to soon buy a new computer because mine is literally falling apart. :( Poor Tru, she has lasted me 2 1/2 long years...I think that just may be too much for her to take much more. So, I'm working now on saving money to show my mom I am responsible and I'm also thinking that the only thing on my Christmas wishlist may just be a new computer because of the sad state my computer is going in and I would love to have an amazing computer that can do all sorts of nifty stuff like be my home studio--which I was hoping to have as my next computer purchase but I was hoping that would be a dedicated computer--as well as do all the school things I need it to do. I would definitely miss my tablet feature though, so maybe Tru would stay with me...I dunno though, since she doesn't last through my classes unless she is plugged-in. We will just have to see how things go, pray for me. I don't want to go do something like spend 6 grand on a computer if God allows Tru to last me another whole school year.

My Guitar!!
I got my guitar in the mail today (technically yesterday because it is now tomorrow). It is amazing and I love it. It's an Acoustic/Electric by Ibanez. It sounds awesome and I'm very much looking forward to learning a lot of new songs to play at 24 (a 24-hour prayer event held monthly at Evangel). The on-board tuner is definitely a sweet touch. Wow, so yeah, I'm very excited about it. Maybe I can start a music myspace one of the days. I guess I'll have to start writing some new songs of my own though, most of the stuff I have to work with I know what I want but can't play, so I think I'll have to do the music then the words for now.

Back at School
Well, now I am back in Missouri. School starts tomorrow and I currently have two books that I need for classes. I ordered most of them on Amazon so I could save some money and they should be here pretty soon. Hopefully I will soon sell my plasma because I don't have a work study job as of right now--maybe I can fix that too.

Hollywood Mission
I cannot wait to start my mission in Hollywood. I desperately want to help plant seeds in the hearts of celebrities. Every time I hear about some big name in Hollywood that doesn't believe in Yahweh our true God it breaks my heart. If you are reading this, please pray for God to change their hearts, because I believe that if Madonna can start a Kaballah craze, then God can change the hearts of celebrities to in turn change the hearts of thousands--perhaps millions--around the country and world.

New Acoustic
I've been searching for the right Acoustic/Electric guitar to get, and it seems to be quite stressful. I don't want to get the wrong one and spend a bunch of money on something that isn't really what I want, so hopefully I will make the right choice for my budget--technically for my parents' budget.

Guitar
So, I'm still trying to rock the guitar in church on Sunday mornings. It's pretty exciting for me and I'm actually getting pretty decent for the most part. Now I'm trying to work on songs that Brig can sing with me because she doesn't know a lot of the words to the songs I want to play.

Peace of Mind
So a wicked sweet thing happened to me today! I called in to Eagle 106.5 and actually got through to the DJ. I requested my song (Peace of Mind by Boston) and he actually played it! Also, after he played the song he said (to the best of my quoting abilities) "There's a great track that's Peace of Mind by Boston requested by Sam. Sam is a she and she is out in the wheat fields. She's driving in around I guess in a truck getting the wheat out of the combines. A lot of people have been calling in from the the fields, so thank you all for calling and thanks for what you do, because without you we wouldn't have food." It was awesome! Next step, calling Sean Hannity. No better way to get over my dislike of calling people by calling radio personalities, no?

Rock Band
So congratulations to Rock Band for being innovators with the whole drum set thing, but now there is a whole new generation. Guitar Hero is coming out with drums for their next game, as are the makers of Karaoke Revolution. The really crappy thing is that they all have different drums! As my sister says, we're pretty much gonna have to have a room devoted to all these video game controllers! ....all of those drums will not fit in my dorm room!

Hooked on Chuck
Thanks to my wonderful sister I am now very much addicted to Chuck. It's a great show and I'm not quite done watching the first season yet, but all I can say is Chuck and Sarah better get together soon. Anything with a romance gets me hooked but this also has secret spy action which is great. If you haven't watched this yet now is the time.

Capo
I got a capo today and I already learned to play a new song. I'm totally stoked about it, so I definitely recommend a capo. Granted when I play on my not amazing Squier it doesn't sound fantastic I was still pretty happy to be playing and singing You Give Love a Bad Name to my sister.

Blogging...is it worth it and why do we do it
So my eldest sister was just giving me a hard time about not blogging enough...which I think is funny since she didn't even know my blog existed until....yesterday. Well, truth be told, I don't blog enough. But why do I blog at all? Why does anyone blog? If my sister(s) actually read my blog then there is a good reason for me to continue them, especially for Monica since I rarely take the time to call or e-mail her. If I randomly come and re-read old blogs I can get a good laugh a lot of times and remember things I otherwise wouldn't, like trying to boycott the CW to no avail. I think in the long run, blogging is more about the blogger than the reader, especially a blog on my level. Chances are that 90% of the time, I am my only reader. On polls I am my only voter. Blogging is a like a clever invention to make hermits and agoraphobics feel as though they are somehow getting out in the world in some way, but they aren't getting out at all, because unless bloggers really make an effort to get people to read their blog the public couldn't care less what is being written. I'm sure though that if I said things raising an eyebrow to National Security that I would get a few more hits on my blog, but it would be ludicrous to joke about that.
Here's to you Monica, leave me a comment or something, make me feel as though my blog is appreciated and is more than a juiced-up diary hosted on the internet so that if my computer crashes I will still have these precious memories. Also, tell me the word I'm looking for to replace juiced-up, it's a more specific and appropriate word for the situation and I'm sure you could come up with it quicker than me.

Recent summer happenings
Oh, summer vacation, how fast you go. These days I've been doing a lot of nothing...sleeping till way too late in the day to do anything productive, watching old Beverly Hills 90210 (those were the good 'old days, I'm really hoping that Brandon and Kelly got married while the show wasn't going on-ya know, in the minds of the new writers' for the new 90210-so that when Jenny Garth does her guest spots on the new show she talks of her husband Brandon because I think that would be great), and I've been doing a little dry walling on my sister's house, which is not at all fun in case you were wondering. Hopefully very soon I will become more productive because I know I can not be sad about the death of my cat forever, especially when his sister needs me because I know she is sad too. Well, here is to a better remainder of my summer, and I have to make that happen, because I know you can't sit and wait for life to come to you, so I gotta just go grab life by the horns and enjoy the ride.
God bless!
